Belgian chunk Bout No 6: a 100% natural "yellow" grindstone (Coticule Jaune standard) from the Belgian Ardennes.
Due to a special geological play of nature, this stone contains some 35-40 % garnet. This ensures excellent grinding properties.
The Ardennes-Coticule grinding stone is a very fine, non-porous grinding stone that should only be used with a little water. The resulting grinding paste gives an unprecedented beautiful grinding result.
The relatively fragile yellow stone is glued to a slate base (it has no grinding function)
